Online Communications

We would welcome an opportunity to personally guide you through some of our past successes, specifically in:

  • monitoring social media platforms and blogs as part of PR and public affairs mandates
  • conceptualizing, creating and maintaining the Facebook presence of B2B and B2C clients
  • monitoring and optimizing Wikipedia profiles and blogs on behalf of businesses and political interest groups, and
  • guidance on dealing with bloggers.

Further Cases:

Website for a private equity company
Website projects do not have to be time-consuming, nor are they necessarily costly. A suddenly arising new situation may make the speedy mounting of a new website decisive. In a recent case, we conceptualized, designed, wrote copy for and programmed a complete corporate website in just a few days as an integral part and vital adjunct to communicating on the merger of two private equity companies. We still update the website regularly to meet changing customer needs.

Website for a political interest group
In very little time, Farner put up a project-specific, custom-designed website for a political interest group as a platform for

  • exchanges of thoughts and views of interested individuals
  • views and positions
  • message multiplication
  • documenting media response
  • event announcements
  • fund raising.

Farner created and designed the website and maintains it to this day, with user-friendly online inscription tools that streamline

  • low-cost registration management
  • access to valuable comments
  • newsletter subscriptions.

We keep the target groups constantly updated on new developments by means of an integrated, electronic newsflash which also permits lightning-quick reactions to what’s going on in the public.

The electronic newsletter – instant information by mouse click
As part of a campaign, electronic newsletters are an efficient, user-friendly way to regularly communicate messages, data, facts, pictures and graphs to an entire target group without distribution loss.

We provide clients with support in writing and distributing electronic newsletters by

  • editing copy and other content
  • designing and programming them
  • managing and updating the address list and
  • creating links to other client websites.

Electronic transmission puts current information in readers’ hands quickly and at low cost. Those readers often become multipliers themselves as they forward newsletters to others by e-mail.

Blog for a political interest group
In the run-up to a popular vote, a political interest group asked Farner to conceptualize and execute a voting campaign. We created traditional and new communication tools, including a blog.

This gave politically-minded bloggers an information resource and exchange platform for thoughts and ideas on the upcoming referendum, both with each another and the committee. Rather than bombarding them with one-sided arguments, we asked that they take part in discussion.

In a strategically targeted manner we introduced in the blog referendum topics and arguments. This enabled our client to quickly size up the effect of an issue and learn what the opposition was up to. The blog soon became a vital stand-alone tool within the overall campaign.

CSR video clip: Innovative corporate publishing
At Xerox, environmental sustainability has been a guiding principle for decades. When the firm set out to showcase its activities and its employees’ involvement, we were asked to help communicate this aim simply and engagingly. Our suggestion was to obtain maximum emotional impact and credibility by featuring employees in a video in which they talk about their private and business initiatives, from recycling at home to taking part in what is Switzerland’s biggest recycling program.

We completed the project, including concept, script, booking of film and studio crews, coaching the speakers, providing visuals, editing and subtitles, in a very short time and with a minimal budget.

  • The result: A highly versatile communication tool
Thanks to the cross-media corporate publishing know-how of Farner PR and Farner Werbung, the video clip met with great enthusiasm among Switzerland’s Xerox team as well as with Xerox CEO Anne Mulcahy, who received it as a farewell gift after a visit to Switzerland. The client gained a versatile internal and external communication tool which has since proved its usefulness at fairs and presentations in demonstrating Xerox’s strong commitment to the environment.

Online issues management
Switzerland’s oil industry has to regularly comment on and convincingly state its position a wide range of issues. Farner created a website allowing the Swiss Oil Association to provide the public with easy-to-understand information about the industry.

Our Energy Practice Group:

  • created a content and structural concept
  • put in place a dedicated issues management process
  • provides content for and administers the website.

  • The result: A highly useful information platform
Oilfacts.ch is a comprehensive, informative web platform all about oil. We continually update the site in response to market changes and with new energy and climate developments.
