This year, Farner St.Gallen became the marketing partner of the leading Swiss football club, FC St.Gallen 1879. After the kick-off in February, everything was in place for a communicative start to the upcoming season – and then the pandemic hit. The coronavirus crisis presented the football club from Eastern Switzerland with major challenges.

Working with Farner St.Gallen, FC St.Gallen quickly launched a comprehensive solidarity campaign, involving a drawing contest with a distribution of 100,000 entry forms, various actions on social media, regular talks on the Espen TV channel and much more.

In parallel to this solidarity campaign, the original communication for the season was launched with the slogan “Grüewiss im Herz” – “Green and white at heart” – matching the club colours. The planned season-ticket campaign had to be rewritten. In response to the extraordinary situation (suspension of play), the football club then communicated with all stakeholders with a view to increasing planning certainty for next season.
