The promotion of wind energy represents a major challenge in Switzerland. While it is generally accepted that renewable energies are the energies of the future, there are still major obstacles among communities affected by wind power projects. Without the approval of the local community, the entire process from planning a project to its implementation can take up to 25 years.     

Suisse Eole, the leading association for the promotion of wind energy in Switzerland, commissioned Farner to conduct a nationwide perception audit. Comprising a qualitative study of around 20 stakeholders and a quantitative survey of over 1,200 people, the audit assessed the perception of wind energy in Switzerland and the effectiveness of Suisse Eole as a national association.

By combining qualitative studies – in the form of individual interviews or participatory workshops – with quantitative surveys, the agency helps companies to make their marketing and communication strategies more meaningful and effective.
